The most important reason for the existence of a home-owners association (like CGPOA) is to help ensure the best possible home values. We have restrictions on appearance, maintenance, and exterior modifications through our Covenants. As our community gets older, the CGPOA will need to remain active to guard against any deterioration of our reputation as a "great place to live"!!

You are probably already aware that the original contractor built most of the houses in Cottage Grove as "semi-detached duplex units". The houses were placed close together and physically connected due to the smaller lot sizes. As many homes were re-sided over the past few months, some connectors were removed. We have been informed some appraisers may require that connection be replaced if you decide to sell your home. This is a "technicality" which should not affect your realtor from listing your house as a "single-family home".
